ORGANIZATION
SKILLS
Similar like last week, I didn’t do anything with my cakes due to the
humidity caused by the rainy season. The rain has caused the fondant too be
very wet and therefore impossible to work with. As I have tried to work the wet
fondant last week but wasn’t successful, I decided to change my design
specifications as the Personal Project product is due next week. I will still
be doing and displaying five cakes in the exhibition, but my design
specifications will consist only of three cakes.
COMMUNICATION
WITH SUPERVISOR
I immediately contacted Mr. Patrick this week, knowing that it is
impossible to finish five cakes as the weather is still rainy. I asked him how
I thought this problem would negatively impact my product score in the final
assessment. Mr. Pat said that this was not my fault. If my specification only
specifies for a cake and I don’t have it, then that is a problem. However, my
specification specifies of five cakes and I could only finish three not because
I am slacking off, but because the weather has not been supportive for the past
three weeks. Mr. Pat’s solution is to change my design specifications to three
cakes, although I am still doing five cakes to display in the exhibition. This
said, this problem would not lower my product assessment score.
INFORMATION
Again, I barely
did anything related to my personal project these three weeks due to the heavy
rain. I wasn’t able to work with the sticky and wet fondant caused by the humidity
of the rainy weather. As this becomes a major problem, I could not finish my
last two cakes, though I might try to finish them before Tuesday if it does not
rain. This said, I also changed my design specifications, which were supposedly
five cakes to only three cakes. I also decided to use a wood board to display
my cakes, with each wood painted based on the theme.
