ORGANIZATION
SKILLS
This week was actually very effective. I spent a lot of time working
on cake three and managed to finish it. Though however, the rainy season has
again created humidity that prevented me in being productive. I know I could
have done so much more if there were no rain. Nevertheless, I still managed to
cover my Indonesian cake with fondant, and planning on finishing it by
Thursday next week.
COMMUNICATION
WITH SUPERVISOR
This week, the whole grade had the PP essay meeting. I didn’t communicate
with Mr. Pat directly, but I remembered that he said to ask Mrs. Rebecca
whether or not I should bring my products on the due date this month. Mrs.
Rebecca said that I only have to bring one cake kept in the glass (the wedding
cake) and have the other cakes brought to school during the exhibition. This
said, I have to only take pictures of the rest of my cakes to be shown to Mr. Pat.
INFORMATION
As mentioned
earlier, I managed to finish my third cake. The process of cake three went
pretty smoothly. I covered each tier with white fondant first. Then, I took my
royal icing that I made previously, thawed and rewhipped it to the right
consistency. I piped some pattern based on the lace, but not brushing it off as
I firstly planned to do it because everyone said that for this cake, it is
better to leave the piping detailed that way. Cutting the fondant silhouettes
was not hard as well, and I finished them in one night. I stuck the pieces onto
the cake, and made some pearls to be put around the tiers. Finally, I brushed
off some glitter to the pearls to leave off that ‘fairytale’ and ‘magical’
sense to the cake
.
